Admission

After transfer from the delivery room to post-natal care, your baby comes to the nursing room for a short time.

Usually in the presence of the father, your baby is examined by the paediatric nurse and then taken into mum's room to its own bed beside the mother.

Baby stays with mum for the next 24 hours in this room and can be looked after for short periods in the nursing room.

Especially in the first few days after birth, important routines are set between mother and baby, such as developing a sleep-wake cycle. This has a harmonious effect on both when they are at home, and here is an ideal situation for mother and baby to practice in the close proximity of each other.

Even breast-feeding in the 24-hour rooming-in process benefits. This room gives mother and baby the opportunity to find their right rhythm for feeding in a safe & quiet private atmosphere. Mother recognises when her baby is hungry or needs other attention.

Our nursing room is continuously manned round the clock. You have a private area especially to yourself, to practice feeding in peace and quiet.
